LVCT Health Training Institute is dedicated to building a sustainable health workforce and bridging the gap in human resource and capacities for community HIV and health services in Kenya.
Registered by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology in 2011 to provide diploma courses, the institute is also accredited by Kenya Counseling and Psychologist Association (KCPA) and NASCOP to provide HIV and Counseling related courses.
Last year, 1,758 health were trained using LVCT Health and national curricula. The institute also supported development up of Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) examinations for diploma in Counseling, trained Muslim clerics from the coastal region on counseling peer education on HIV and drug abuse amongst the youth; and organized a leadership training targeting women leaders from Eastern and Southern Africa with support from UN Women.
Having trained 75% of all HIV Testing and Counseling (HTC) personnel in Kenya and 90% of HTC supervisors, the Institute is home for those aspiring to further their careers in HTC and related fields. Click here for a list of courses offered and the LVCT Training website for more information.
